I have had the volumizer brush for almost 15 years and it is just now starting to show any wear. There really is no problem at all with static when you use this brush and it does not rip through knots in your hair like other hair brushes. Buy it. You will not be sorry! It has a narrow flat head that allows you to grip and lift close to the hair line. I purchased 5 different brushes before buying this one and could not achieve the salon finish I was aiming for, but thanks to this little brush my hair always looks like I just stepped out of the Salon. After using Bare Escentuals and every other kind of makeup brush in the world, I read how great the e.l.f. brushes were by reviewers. They did not sell the kabuki at Target, so I searched Amazon, and of course they did not let me down. This brush is awesome! It is so soft and doesn't scratch your face like the Bare Escentuals does. You probably haven't noticed that, but once you start using e.l.f., you will throw away the old scratchy ones. This is great--it looks natural on my formerly very dark brown eyebrows, now threaded with white hairs. It isn't too black or very gray--more of a dark mushroom color. The little brush on the tip is useful, although I keep getting confused and pulling it off instead of the cap. The product is sort of a flat-tipped wax pencil--you can trace on individual hairs or just fill in shadows under sparser areas. It stays put on my sweaty, greasy summer face, too--other kinds will end up smearing or disappearing. Sometimes, I do use a clear brow gel over it to keep my arches arched, which helps, but even without, there is some hold from the wax. A great product at a great price!
